Who can use the transport service?
The transport service for people with disabilities in the Gifhorn district is intended for individuals who, due to a physical impairment, are unable to use public transportation, or can only do so to a limited extent.
Requirements
• Primary residence in the Gifhorn district
• Possession of a valid disability ID card
• Disability status with one of the following:
– Code G + degree of disability (GdB) ≥ 80
– Code aG + GdB ≥ 50
– Codes G, H, B + GdB = 100
Companions
• If the code B is listed, one accompanying person may travel free of charge
• Without the code B, accompanying persons may join as self-paying passengers
Proof & validity
• Proof of residence, disability ID card, or a medical certificate (no older than 6 months) is required
• Eligibility must be renewed on a regular basis
Reasons for travel
These trips are available through the transport service:
• Visits to relatives and friends
• Participation in cultural, political, or social events
• Leisure and sports activities
• Shopping and personal errands
• Trips related to voluntary or community work
Excluded trips
Trips that do not support social participation are excluded, for example:
• Medical appointments, therapy, or treatment-related trips
• Travel to or from schools and workplaces
• Travel to inpatient or semi-inpatient facilities (e.g. hospitals, care homes, workshops for people with disabilities)
How often and when can the transport service be used?
You can use up to 76 trips per year (round trips).
The transport service is available to you on nearly every day of the year.
This ensures reliable and flexible mobility for people with disabilities – both for regular trips and for special occasions.
Special arrangement:
For individuals engaged in voluntary or political activities, additional trips are available.

- Operating hours: daily from 6:00 (earliest departure) to 00:30 (latest departure)
How a trip in the Gifhorn district works
To ensure that every trip runs smoothly, the process follows a simple procedure. From booking to safe arrival, we accompany you reliably – step by step.
Pickup and destination locations must be publicly accessible (e.g. building entrance, facility, event site). For safety reasons, pickup inside buildings or on private property is not possible.

- Receive confirmation: You will receive feedback from the dispatch team with the exact pickup times and details of the trip.
- Pick-up: Our driving staff will pick you up at the curb in front of your home address. A barrier-free boarding process is provided.
- Enjoy the ride: Sit back and relax – our vehicles are specially equipped to provide you or your child with a safe and comfortable journey.
- Return trip: If you require a return trip, it can be booked directly in advance or arranged individually.
Payment methods
Payment can be made in cash or by prior arrangement.
No discounts
Reductions or discounts – for example through ID cards, subscriptions, or other proofs – cannot be applied.
Transparent billing
The personal contribution is collected directly by the transport service.
All trips are documented transparently and billed correctly.
